Abstract
The central question raised by current technological advancements, and which has become a topic of interest in various fields, especially Psychology, concerns: how to evolve technologically without regressing in humanity? It is therefore necessary to understand the interaction between humans and technology and how its frequent use can harm brain function. To this end, themes such as Neuroscience and Technology were articulated, establishing a brief analysis of the impacts caused by the excessive use of artificial intelligence. The ease associated with this technology does not provide the human brain with the dynamism necessary for true learning. In order to understand the harm resulting from this dependence on ChatGPT, MIT researchers published a study (2025) reporting that participants accustomed to using the tool showed impaired memorization, as well as reduced connection between the brain lobes and neural activity when writing an essay on their own. Thus, the use of artificial intelligence as an enabling tool, and not as a substitute for the human brain, is reiterated.
