Abstract
Given that mathematics is present everywhere, it is important to understand it in everyday activities, as well as in agriculture. Therefore, this master's research addresses the following problem: What is the relationship established by farmers in the municipality of Poço Verde (SE) with mathematics, and how is this knowledge used in their work? Its general objective is to analyze the relationship established by farmers in the municipality of Poço Verde (SE) with mathematics and how this knowledge is used in their work. The methodological instruments employed are the phenomenological method, a qualitative approach of an explanatory and ethnographic nature. Data collection instruments included questionnaires, interviews, and observation. The theoretical framework is based on Charlot (2000, 2021, 2024) and D'Ambrosio (2024), observing the Relationship with Knowledge and Ethnomathematics, respectively. Thus, it is expected to understand the senses and meanings attributed by farmers to mathematics in their daily lives, observing the relevance of public policies for education in rural areas.
