Abstract
The research, linked to the Professional Master’s Program in Letters (ProfLetras/UFS), proposes a pedagogical intervention focused on the teaching of Portuguese Language, with an emphasis on developing reading and writing skills. It uses the online newspaper and the news genre as teaching resources, integrating information and communication technologies into the school environment. The aim is to promote greater interactivity and autonomy among 6th-grade students in reading and writing, helping them overcome their main difficulties. The study is grounded in the works of Solé (1998), Santos (2006), Rojo (2012), Freire (2003), and Romão, who discuss reading, writing, and technology. With a qualitative and ethnographic approach, it employs observation and online interviews. The online newspaper is adopted as the central technology, with dissemination through the school’s digital platforms. Ultimately, the research seeks to expand its reach within the school community and strengthen the connection between teaching and the social practice of reading and writing.
