Abstract
This work aims to highlight the importance of developing social technologies for inclusive access for children, especially those with visual and hearing impairments, as well as to promote the use of inclusive educational tools—both physical and digital—that expand the possibilities of access to and engagement with children's literature. Based on the book “Maju, the Girl with the Giant Heart”, a project awarded through a public call in 2024 and authored by me, which includes versions in Braille and sign language (Libras), this study sought to present a learning resource that can be used by educators in the literacy process of children. This strengthens the process of inclusion, as inclusive literature allows children to experience emotions and learn while respecting differences. At the same time that they engage with the real world, they also connect with the imaginary and symbolic worlds, which fosters cognitive development with creativity and empathy, promoting language expansion and new paths toward socialization. The books are distributed in public institutions, such as libraries and spaces dedicated to the inclusion of children with visual and hearing impairments.
